Two lucky golfers begin tour of extreme golf courses

Both work for TaylorMade-adidas and were chosen to test their games in the most extreme conditions around the world.
Starting today with a kickoff at the company's headquarters in Carlsbad, Calif., Knowlton and Sullivan, who both have single-digit handicaps, will travel to five courses in the Southern Hemisphere, learn about local cultures and participate in several thrill-seeking adventures.

And, finally, it's on to Alice Springs, Australia, to play the world's hottest course, where temperatures often exceed 120 degrees.

Proving that playing golf in the snow is not just stupid but fun, two intrepid golfers from Adidas—Josh Sullivan and Lindsay Knowlton—journeyed this week to the southernmost golf course in the world, Ushuaia at the tip of Argentina. It flurried, hard, and a large feral dog followed them around, but they managed to bang orange and yellow balls around the course anyhow.
